Fall Fun in Greater Houston
Cooler days, pumpkin spiced everything, and cozy autumn sweaters… These are just a few things to look forward to as the seasons change. Although summer may be ending, there is still so much to do in the Houston area. Keep reading for some activity inspiration as we head into the fall season.
Local Breweries
From apple cider to seasonal lagers and everything in between, these Houston breweries have all the tasty drinks to get you in the autumn spirit. Many breweries have also announced Oktoberfest-inspired celebrations.
Not every local brewery has announced their seasonal offerings yet. Other local breweries to keep an eye on include: Walking Stick Brewing Company, 8th Wonder Brewery, Eureka Heights Brewery, Elder Son Brewing, Great Heights Brewing Company, Astral Brewing, Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company, and 11 Below Brewing Company. Even if these breweries don’t offer seasonal beverages, consider visiting for a fun night out.
Saint Arnold’s
If you’ve taken a stroll down the grocery aisles lately, you’ll have noticed the selection of seasonal food and beverages growing. Likewise, our local breweries are adding to the options. Saint Arnold’s has crafted a new 12-pack featuring its most popular beers, including Art Car IPA, Lawnmower, Oktoberfest, and its newest limited release, Guten Tag.
Guten Tag is a crisp Bavarian-style lager with a toasty flavor and soft finish. Although other breweries in the area have also crafted their own Bavarian-style lagers, each one has its own distinct flavor profile. Try them all to compare!
To celebrate the season, consider attending Saint Arnold Oktoberfest. It’s a full weekend of festivities from Friday, September 20th through Sunday, October 2nd. The Beer Garden and Beer Hall will be jamming with live music, and depending on the day you go, you can expect games, a costume contest, and a buffet feast. See Saint Arnold’s website for all the hoppy details.
Karbach Pub and Biergarten
Visit Karbach to enjoy an authentic Bavarian-style Marzen, a cold-fermented beer that pairs perfectly with pretzels and sausage. The beverage is available from mid-August through October, so be sure to give it a try while it’s available.
You can also take a sip of Karbach’s latest seasonal beer during Karbachtoberfest on weekends from September 23rd through October 9th. Karbach’s Biergarten will have live music from traditional oompah bands, awesome activities, Wiener Dog Races, and more. Check out Karbach’s website for more information, including on how to purchase tickets.

Each located less than an hour away from Houston Heights, these farms not only provide plenty of fresh seasonal produce but charming fall activities too.
Blessington Farms
On Saturdays and Sundays from September 17th through November 20th, take a ride over to Blessington Farms in Wallis to take advantage of fall fun. Pick the perfect pumpkin at the farm’s pumpkin patch and take it home to carve, decorate, or place on your porch for a splash of autumn color. Blessington Farms also offers a jump pad, barrel train, and gemstone mining for the kids. In addition, visitors can feed the animals in the animal yard and enjoy a traditional hayride. What a fun way to signal the end of summer and celebrate the start of a new season!
