“A GREAT EXPERIENCE”
Mary Wassef has many repeat clients, and the Boyd family is no exception. “The Boyds were referred to me from past clients. Our first transaction was in 2016 with three more to follow,” she said. When JJ and Jason began their home search, they knew they wanted to work with a real estate agent with experience with the Houston Heights neighborhood. They asked their friends, who have sold and purchased a few homes in the Heights, for help finding a qualified professional to get started with. “The first time we met Mary Wassef, we were purchasing a gorgeous new construction Craftsman home built by Renovo Homes in the Heights. Mary was not actually our agent, she was representing the other side of the deal, Renovo Homes. Mary was tough, yet accommodating and easy to work with. We also found her to be very knowledgeable about the Heights. We left this negotiation and closing process very impressed with Mary and I remember my husband and I saying to each other ‘when we sell this home, we need to use her.’ Fast forward 4 years and we decided it was time to downsize. We wanted to stay in the Heights, we just needed less space and less property to care for. So, we reached out to Mary at Circa Real Estate.”
In the four years between buying and selling, Mary and Caroline kept in touch. Caroline had gotten involved in interior design and had developed quite the eye. Mary began referring her own clients to Caroline for her amazing interior design services. Mary Wassef met Elbert when he purchased a house in Houston Heights in 2008. “When I decided to start Renovo Homes, LLC. to develop luxury homes in the Heights soon thereafter, I knew where to turn,” he said. Mary’s experience in new construction gives her unique value as a real estate agent, and her close work with businesses like Renovo Homes, LLC. further positions her as an expert. “Elbert decided that building was a great career for him. I’ve represented him on every house that he has done. We’ve helped him build his site and really love our partnership with Elbert and his team,” Mary said.
Elbert’s homes are so gorgeous they could sell themselves, but Elbert insisted on giving Circa Real Estate some credit. In addition to selling homes Renovo develops, Mary works on finishes and floorplans as a project consultant. “Mary’s knowledge of the local market and customer trends is crucial to my decision-making from selecting lots, to architecture, to interior design.”

“WE HIT IT OFF”
Mary met Johnny at an open house. “I was working on a holiday and he was looking at someone else’s build… We hit it off and I started representing him thereafter,” Mary said. Her expertise, patience, and care stood out to Johnny, and he remembered her as he prepared for subsequent sales and purchases. Their professional relationship has lasted for more than 12 years, and Mary has represented Johnny in numerous transactions ever since their fated open house meeting in 2008.

When Jacquelyn prepared to move to the Heights from San Antonio, she worried that the process would be complicated and frustrating. “She was also searching for a new job at the time,” Mary said with a sly grin. “I referred her to an employer who then hired her!
